2. Yeah, a friend of mine told me about the book. The movie ending sounds
a little worse.

3. I read the story 25 years ago.
I heard that the ending sucked ass. Say? Did they put an alternate ending on the DVD?

5. I already know how the film ends and yes, it's different than the story.
But I heard that they filmed an alternate ending that's just like the book...

Any truth to that?

6. Not sure. Didn't check out the dvd extras. I guess I was too
disturbed by the ending.

7. They should have ended the film like the story, it was just as disturbing if not more.
Why the need for shock?

9. There wasn't an ending in the story.
It just kept going. I'm not sure if that would have translated as well to film.

18. Highly overrated.
The few small fantasy scenes are clever. But the movie itself stunk.

Del Toro's "The Devil's Backbone" and "The Orphanage" were both superior.

8. We watched it a few weeks ago.
Yeah, the ending was Fucked Up, but I enjoyed it. It reminded me of the ending to Night of The Living Dead.

14. I was mad...
One, the book ended with at least hope (when they heard the Portand radio station) and there was no need to do that in the movie. I was shaken for days afterward.

24. I never read the story, and I haven't seen the movie
but I have a cassette tape copy of the ZBS binaural radioplay of The Mist and it's pretty damn scary, expecially in 3D audio :)

Now, I remember the ending on that with them hearing on the radio "Hartford" not Portland. But, it still has the same "leave you hanging" ending :)

I wouldn't mind knowing the ending of the movie since I simply don't watch that kind of horror movie (I still prefer the likes of "The Haunting", 1963 version.)
