Do I need to rush around to see "IRON MAN" on the big screen or could I just wait
for the DVD?

I have a lot on my plate and a sinking feeling it will be out of the theaters when I am back from vacation

1. I saw it last night.
It was pretty good for a big Hollywood action movie, mostly because of the cast (Robert Downey Jr. and Jeff Bridges particularly) and the Iron Man suit, which is fairly cool.

I'm of the opinion that if it's worth seeing, it's worth seeing on the big screen if possible, so I'd say go for it.

3. I'd agree with that statement.
That was truly the role Robert Downey Jr. had been prepariong a lifetime for!

And as an aside: for a while I used to think the Robert Downey jr. was a poor man's Johnny Depp, but now I've come to the conclusion that when you want Johnny Depp--but really need a human instead, you go with Robert Downey jr! ;)

5. I saw it and really enjoyed it. And generally hate these kinds of films.
Robert Downey Jr. was fantastic. It definitely has its cheesiness, but overall a lot of fun.

7. RD jr makes the movie. As such, you will not miss too much by going DVD
although I assume you have a reasonably large TV and a good sound system.

8. actually, we have maybe a 25 inch
screen. We do have a stereo hooked up to the TV thought. We are holding out on upgrading the TV as long as possible

14. TV prices are pretty good these days, admittedly it's a bit like buying a laptop
used to be. You buy one and the prices drop and new features are added.

11. Robert Downey Jr was great
I like the allusions of Tony Stark being a descendant of Howard Hughes. The same natural engineering bent, the unconventional intellect, the high society playboy lifestyle, it's all out of the Howard Hughes biography. When he's designing and building his new suit, it's like you can see the wheels turning in his mind, just like you would expect from a natural nerd engineering prodigy. The testing scenes are some of the best comedy I've seen in a while. Go see it, it's a darn good movie for something from Marvel.

15. It's almost the definition of a big-screen movie
Better on the big screen, even if you have a big screen TV and a great home theater system...

17. See it on the big screen.
I see it's still playing at the Rave in Fort Worth, go there! I have a Rave near me and I'll definitely miss it when I move to NJ in November.
