Who else hates that "I Kissed a Girl" song? |
|
Edited on Mon Jun-16-08 05:16 PM by AspieGrrl
I mean the recently released one by Katy Perry, not the totally unrelated one by Jill Sobule from the 90's. Jill Sobule's song of the same name is actually quite lovely, which probably adds to my hatred of the Katy Perry one. She stole the title!
You'd think, as a girl who likes to kiss girls, I would like that song. Actually, I find it extremely irritating...and it annoys me that fake bisexuality has become kind of trendy.
Pretty much everyone else I know loves that song... so who's with me here? Anyone?
(On edit - I also don't like it because I just find it irritating, lyrics and title-snatching aside).

so... I dunno.
I probably don't like it either though, if it's on the radio. I find most radio stuff practically unlistenable.

4. How Do People Avoid Crappy Music? |
|
You must have some sort of mystical powers. In my gym, they have music videos playing all of the time, and it's crappy tune after crappy tune.

And when I'm anywhere that's playing crappy music, I listen to my iPod.

song. The Jill Sobule song I liked. The Perry song - just exploitive dribble.

11. The beat is good - The lyrics suck |
|
It's one of those songs that the beat is what makes it good, not the lyrics. Any other words and I guarantee you the song would have been pretty much just as popular as it is now.
That's also another reason why I try to NOT listen to the speakers are gyms/clothing stores/pop radio and I stay away from the "Top ___ Songs" lists on Amazon and iTunes. Usually it's rehashed crap with a different name all the time.

But only because I didn't know the title. It's an ok tune. It doesn't really bother me.

It trivializes sexuality. Bisexual and lesbian women are not toys to be teased by strait women experimenting for men.

23. Ok, so I listened to the song a couple more times... |
|
with a more open mind. I'm not sure she is "fake", but rather "exploring" which is what's life's all about (or perhaps should be at times). I'm not crazy about the "cherry chapstick" line though. It's dorky.

She's all about faux-bisexuality because she thinks it's hip. :puke:
