Well, today I took my beloved laptop to my computer guy, Jimmie! He is a wizard...and a lovely guy to boot!

Got my laptop all fixed up, new anti-viral stuff, old stuff cleaned out, the works...

Bring 'er home, and all of a sudden...

I've been booted off DU...

I'm trying to remember my password...can't remember it...come upstairs to my study where I keep it...

Take it back downstairs...

Try it...

Damn, wrong password...:grr:

Tell the Admins to email me a new one, to my desktop...

Back upstairs...there's the new one...

Write it down, back downstairs...I'm getting tired by now...

Write it in.......

Hope I never have to do that again!

6. That's why some of my variants are simple, like adding a number at the beginning or end

of the password just to satisfy those silly things. :P Or capitalizing a particular letter, ect.

It might help to have just one or two passwords for all of your email, forum, and IM logins, so you can remember them more easily.

Then again, it might be a little riskier. But I do that and I haven't had any trouble.

I have one relatively easy password for the websites I visit most frequently, and one super-weird one for banking and all (as in numbers/letters/symbols that don't make sense to anyone but me). Worse comes to worst, I might get TS'ed, and banned from the Dungeons and Dragons and Buddhist philosophy discussion forums, but at least it would be extremely difficult to empty my bank account!
