5. The sun is going down as I post this.
Edited on Fri Jun-20-08 07:49 PM by femmocrat
We are having a magnificent sunset. Huge red sun surrounded by pinkish-purple sky and lavender-grey clouds. Just slipping down behind the hills right now (8:45 or so).

It follows a day filled with nasty thunderstorms. It's a gorgeous evening here in western PA.

On edit: actual time of sunset is 8:51 in the nearest town that was listed.

6. 7:16 pm
but it's standard time, as there isn't really that much daylight to save in the tropics.

7. The sign at the bus stop today said "123 degrees". I don't think that the sun is ever going down...

10. OK, now I'm confused. My home town in Montana and my current home are 1.1 deg (long.) apart.
And the time difference is 2 hours.

:wtf:

birthplace: longitude W112.0, latitude N48.2
Sunset 9:32 p.m.

current home: longitude W110.9, latitude N32.2
Sunset 7:33 p.m.

12. Changes in latitudes....
Edited on Fri Jun-20-08 08:33 PM by pokerfan
If you go far enough north the sun doesn't even set this time of year.

The only effect longitude has is your location within your times zone. The farther west you are the later the sun will set and rise.

13. It is kind of a trick question.
My current home, Tucson, AZ, doesn't do Daylight Saving Time
while Montana does.

And Google's image is cool.

:hi:
