How hard is it to learn how to ride a motorcycle? I'd like to buy one in a couple of years.

1. not hard

i took a class at a state sponsored motorcycle school which really helped a lot. its like anything else, the more you do it, the more confident you get.

2. Second that.

Most places have the same course. Some states subsidize part of the cost, some don't. Anyway, it's a good class.

3. Learn the countersteering concept

Steering a motorcycle goes against instinct: to initiate a turn towards the left, you push the left handlebar forward as if making a right. The combination of gyro-deflection of the front wheel and tire patch displacement will lean the bike left.

4. If you've got reasonable coordination and balance, you can do it.
