This is straight out of matcomnews. Dentist drops tools into patient.
WINTER PARK, Fla. -- A Central Florida woman is filing a civil lawsuit against a dentist accused of dropping a screwdriver and another medical tool down her father's throat that she claims led to his death.

In October of 2006, Anne Greer took her father, Charles Gaal, 90, to dentist Dr. Wesley Meyers in Winter Park for implants to secure his dentures.

During the procedure, Greer said Meyers dropped a medical screwdriver down her father's throat. She said it took a colonoscopy to have the screwdriver removed from his large intestine.

Then, in May of 2007, despite his daughter's concerns, Gaal returned to Wesley for implants and a different tool was accidentally dropped down Gaal's throat, Local 6's Louis Bolden reported.

1. Mr. Gaal is also known as "Deep Throat" in some circles
Seriously, how do you drop tools all the way down someone's throat? Wouldn't they gag? Cough? Something? :wtf:

And the headline is a hoot - Dentist Accused Of Dropping Tools Down Patient's Throat Before Death. Probably wouldn't be nearly so big a fuss if it happened AFTER death. :eyes:

3. I have a friend whose parent required major surgery to remove a dental tool.
I think it was a drill bit.

5. A screwdriver?
I've never been to the dentist and have them bring out a screwdriver to use on me.

Guess I should count myself lucky.

7. We're not talking the sort of screwdriver I have in my toolbox, I assume
With self-tapping screws? "Ah fuck it, I dropped another screw down his esophagus. I wish they would magnetize these things more!"

8. The other tool was a torque wrench
Every torque wrench I've ever used was about the size of my forearm. I'm assuming the dental variety is a tad smaller.
