Just got back from registering voters...outside...and it's 106 degrees |
|
We were in the shade most of the time. With water a'plenty.
And I feel sick anyway.
It's not fit for human habitation out there.

Then it got breezy and some clouds rolled in.
Then the breeze became wind and the clouds got darker and covered the entire sky.
It's down to 89, and I just heard thunder.
This is truly bizarre.
:scared:
Edit: Now it's raining, and we've got thunder and lightning.

There's not a cloud in the sky here (Studio City).
Oh wait...there is one. But it's a stringy see-through cotton cloud.
Odd. Very odd.

Oh, sweetie...
Lie down, put something wet and cold over your face...
Take a nap!
Good for you, registering voters, and especially on a day like this!
B and I just drove past some folks in Polliwog Park; they're raising money for Obama via Moveon!
They looked well...shade plus a canopy overhead...
Did you have many new voters, or were there some re-registering as Dems?

Drinking lots of water and I took a really cool shower.
Now I'm lounging on my bed and the a/c is cranked.
We had a really positive reception, even with the weather being so horrid.
We had a few that needed to re-register due to moving, but also a few 18-19 year olds! :D
We even had some non-citizens stop by and say they wished they could vote, and thanked us for working to make things better (we were wearing Obama buttons).
It's SO nice to be in a liberal area!!

Since this area of Los Angeles is particularly liberal, we figure our top priority is not campaigning, per se, since we don't really need to convince people to vote for Obama. That's why we're focusing on registration. Gotta make sure the turnout is phenomenal!
And then in the fall, we'll be headed to Nevada for some door-to-door campaigning. :D
