What's worth seeing at the movies lately?
I have two free passes, but since I skip commercials I have no idea what's playing right now that looks any good. My passes appear to be good for any of the local chains, but not for IMAX.

9. my local paper paper had a pretty funny review of that movie, it pretty much
told Mike Myers to just stop.

11. Rotten Tomatoes has it at 15% right now. I didn't know a movie could rank that low.
Some of their quotes are hilarious, too. "With this sort of junk, Myers obviously is all out of love, and one day he'll be so lost without us." "An oh-my-God-level disaster that’ll make you wonder if Hollywood actually hates us." "At 88 minutes, The Love Guru would have benefited from a trim of roughly 80 minutes."

One of the more positive reviews: Mike Myers' new comedy, The Love Guru, is a disappointment, but it's not a disaster, and that's at least something.

32. The lowest rating I ever saw on Rotten Tomatoes
was for "One Missed Call," which actually managed to garner a 0% rating!

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/one_missed_call/

Partly intrigued by the idea of seeing a movie ranked sooo low, and feeling like seeing a horror movie anyway, I actually went to see it. It wasn't nearly as horrible as I would have thought a 0% rating would imply; I think the 0 was more the result of no critic willing to say it was more good than bad than that it was really *that* horribly awful. I'd probably give it a 2 on a 5-star scale, but I'm not exactly the pickiest moviegoer! haha

14. I think "HellBoy" will be the surprise hit of the summer.
It's the only "must see on the big screen" on my list.

Funnier than any movie I've seen this year,
and it's only 5 minutes long....(if that).

But I would save your pass for "Wall-E", opening on Friday.

Slow-building and creepy, and more suspenseful than it was bloody. I really liked the atmosphere of it, too, and the fact that the old house looks way too much like one of my relative's houses in West Texas was an added bonus!

10. Well, I've seen Indiana Jones, Kung Fu Panda, and Narnia recently.
All surprisingly good, but Kung Fu Panda, which my nine year old forced me to see, was hillarious.

That's the extent of my life. If my kids can't see it, I'm not likely to see it. :)

who so owes me a movie after the "Zohan" doesn't want to see it so i told her she could stay home with Aunty Robin and me and the girls would go see it anyhow.

24. Depends on what you like -- I've seen nothing advertised
recently that I'd want to sit through, but sometimes investigating foreign movies can be interesting, if your passes cover that.

Check out www.rottentomatoes.com for recent releases - might find something there that interests you.

Both were quite good but Kung Fu Panda was the better of the two movies.

I kind of want to see the one about the robots, but it's not playing yet. The panda movie looks good, too, but you probably have more sophisticated tastes than I do...:D
