You know Hitting the dollar store before the grocery store and Coscto |
|
Really Rocks....
Honestly many things such as condiments and frozen fish and hash are simply cheaper than than even buying in bulk. I still hit the Publix for Fresh baked bread and milk and Costco for the rest but the dollar store has knocked a good 40 dollars a week of our grocery bill.
Anyone else picking up imported Belgian strawberry jam made with sugar instead of corn syrup for only a buck?

Big Lots----> Aldi's ------> CostCo ------> Kroger
I save about $100.00 a week. And the kids get all the CRAP they want for next to nothing.
(My best friend throws SAV-A-LOT into the mix, but I HATE that place...)

3. I've been checking out the Big Lots |
|
I like the weird selection. Soups Jam Salsa etc. Vitamin water, Drinks, the occasional carpentry tool. They have these heavy duty Stanly bar clamps now, for a ridiculously low price.

5. We have two different dollar chains here. |
|
The Dollar Tree doesn't normally have any food I would consider eating, but has lots of toys, cleaning things, first aid stuff, little doodads for around the house, etc.
The 99 cent store gets a lot more food including a fair amount of natural and organic stuff, in addition to the usual junk. Their selection generally tends to be a lot more variable, but they get fabulous deals- my favorite was when they had my $8 razor refills for a buck- I cleaned them out and should be set for a year or two. :D

ORGANIC brownie mix for $ 1.50 - and I thought "Oh yeah but I bet there is a catch."
Bought two boxes. Each box made enough brownies for an army - and it was ORGANIC and not spoiled or rancid, but totally fresh.
They also carry "Amy's Organics" items for as little as 89 cents some times.
We get frozen prawns - a huge sack for $ 6.99
And the people there are so friendly!!
