Hire a Bird played for me when I opened the link. Goes right to the country blues section of my musical wierdness gland. Cheers for the tip! :toast:
Heh, Sally Kellerman at the end.

2. Boston breeds 'em weird. |
|
So needless to say, I liked those songs. :)
I actually think I've heard them before, but I'll be damned if I can remember where or through who. The name rings a lot of bells, but it just isn't coming to me. I wonder if they ever played out live somewhere and I saw them as an opening act for someone else I was into.
This'll bug me all night now... x(
Good stuff anyways. :)

3. They released two recordings: one EP, and one LP. |
|
"8/13" and "Like the idea". I don't know if they ever toured. I dearly love their music.
Points to OR for recognizing the sample at the end- I searched and asked and finally, how many years later, was watching the film it came from, not knowing :D
Boston music fans must know the Birdsongs of the Mesozoic and Mission of Burma. The MOB records have -just- been remastered and are either in re-release or will be shortly. There is actual footage of this on youtube.

4. I know Mission of Burma well. |
|
Peter Prescott from MoB even had two offshoots that I was into, Volcano Suns and Kustomized. A friend has one of the re-releases and it sounds mighty fine.
I want to say I remember Birdsongs, but I'm not sure. I'm listening to a new CD by Nachmystium at the moment (don't ask...nothing like this stuff lol), but I jotted them down. I'll have to look them up later and see if it jogs any memories. I love finding new (old) things to listen to.
I swear either I or one of my friends had something by Think Tree. This will bug me all weekend long, or at least until I ask my musical encyclopedia friend about them. :)

5. Not bad. A little over the top, maybe, but certainly an interesting sound. |
