OH HELL NO! I love my Mom to death, but HELL NO!
Edited on Sat Jun-21-08 10:54 PM by Ava
She wants me to skydive with her on her 40th birthday next year. I'm sorry, but I'm scared of heights, and I would die of a heart attack in the air.

Part of me is curious enough that if I had the guts to do it I would, but the other(and bigger) part of me screams HELL to the NO!

1. I'll just reiterate what I just said in another post of yours...
but it's especially relevant in the case of parachutes.

It never hurts to have an extra backup. :P

5. My brother's best friend took him skydiving on his birthday last year.
Was a total surprise too. He kept stringing my brother along and making him think that he was just being taken out to a birthday meal or something. He was saying things like, "People don't go there for the food, they go there for the atmosphere." and "They're best known for their wings." :P

And his friend kept up the act the whole way there. Pretended to stop and ask for directions at the little airfield there and didn't reveal his evil plan until they were standing right there.

2. Oh. it's fun ...

The heights aren't really a problem, ya know. It's that sudden stop at the end that gets ya. :-)

(I wouldn't do it either.)

8. Um, maybe that particular cliche isn't the best for this situation?

9. It really isn't that scary.
I jumped from planes when I was in the Army, loved it.

Skydiving isn't for everyone, a good jump school is important.

You having the fear of heights, it might be better to stay on the ground.

11. Tell her you want to look forward to doing it when you turn 40.
That'll get her off you about it for awhile. :)
