I had just read your post when the shouting started. The danger's apparently not over, but it's "diminished." They broke into the local programming and seem to have brought in a whole team, besides the usual weekend weather person, and they were totally panicked, telling people to go to their basements and, if you're out in a car, avoid overpasses and lie down in a ditch! Yikes!

The thing is, I live in Northern NY! We get blizzards and freezing rain and once even had an earthquake that people are still talking about. But tornados?! Not in my lifetime. But we had a "tornado watch" last week, not to mention severe hail, and then there's today, which is apparently more "dire," as they said. They did spot a "funnel cloud" about a half an hour north of here, which is where nuxvomica is. We talked about this craziness last week. He thinks it's the Apocalypse and nobody will ever convince me that there's no global warming.

Thanks for your concern, my friend. I didn't mean to alarm you. I can't imagine taking refuge in the basement with two crazy dogs...:hi::hug:

We had one touch down 2 miles from here a week or so ago. Nice of them to tell me this after the fact. :rofl: It's already been a season of extremes here, a solid week of 100+ heat followed by nasty storms and winds you almost never see around Philly, save during the winter.

I think they have the newsteams chained up in a vault in case of big stories. ;)

I fret at the drop of a hat where my friends are concerned. :hug:

51. I admit I did get scared, obviously, LOL. But thank you.

It appears that tornadoes are showing up all over the country. Last week the weather guy said that a "tornado watch" was extremely unusual in this area, and then today they had a "tornado warning." We have a "severe thunderstorm watch" until late tonight, and the possibility of more hail...:crazy:

I worked at an amusement park in Lake George, summers, when I was still in school and rarely remember a rainstorm. I'm diligent about checking the weather, since I hate to drive when it's bad out, and it seems like thunderstorms are predicted for five days out of seven, this summer...x(

And I called nuxvomica when I heard the report of the tornado. He didn't answer, but he usually goes to his mother's on Sundays. He'll probably call back later and I'll tell him to check in...:hi::hug:

for the decline of the fish populations. But I thought they didn't think that this was happening... I wish I had a nickel for everytime I yelled back at the TV...:eyes:

Also, I got distracted with the weather bulletins. That really wasn't my cat, but it sure looks like her. And I seem to be just the opposite of you, since I'm allergic to short-haired cats, though I've had two. But my long-haired cat never bothered me at all, though she insisted on sleeping on my pillow. One of the girls who works for my vet said that they have different kinds of dander. This is the real Rhiannon. :loveya:

55. Well, Katie Virtue, LOL, on Channel 10 said that there was one in Glens Falls...

And the Channel 23 10pm News said that Saratoga County "felt the brunt of it." Lucky us... x( Apparently a lot of people lost power, and the "severe thunderstorm warning" is still effect until 10:45. They're still debating whether there were tornadoes in the region.:-(

What is it about Mechanicville, anyway? They always seem to get hit.:shrug:

It was bad here last night, and we got hit twice here today. I was awakened at 6am by thunder and was surrounded by anxious dogs... Glad that you didn't run into anything...:hug:
