TechNet Plus subscription - is it worth the investment?
I am studying SQL Server certification; the benefits seem nice, but $349 per year is hefty. Still, perpetual use software for training purposes wouldn't come amiss...

I don't think server or database administration will be offshored by cheapaholics any time soon, surely?

Would you pursue this subscription?

1. The amount of software you get is worth it alone...
...we subscribe to it at work, and it's way, way worth it.

2. Thanks. And I just read this:
Microsoft eLearning courses. To prepare for certification or simply to help build your technical skills, TechNet Plus includes a selection of Microsoft eLearning courses for free each quarter.

:wow:

I think I'm sold, but will not splurge just yet...

3. Yes.
It's worth it. The newsgroups and eLearning courses are great!

I get most of that stuff through Enterprise MSDN license at work.

4. Good workplace.
:)

Some aren't as nice, but some companies think that if they give out free training, the recipient will take it and run. Others in my org have done that, which is a bit sad...
