I think I broke my foot.
I ran over it yesterday with a pallet jack. It's swollen and it a lovely shade of purple. Every time I step down on it I get a really sharp pain. My life just keeps getting better.

1. I'm very sorry to hear this....
I believe you drive a truck?

Is it your clutch foot or your gas foot?

3. Clutch foot
Fortunately I only use the clutch when I am at a stop. Once I get the truck moving I float the other eight gears.

4. Hopefully it is not broken.
Do you load and unload also?

8. It just depends
on where I am at. I didn't have to help yesterday but I felt bad for the guy. He had trucks lined up to unload and he was by himself. So I got out there and unloaded my truck for him.

I did something like that once and broke a metatarsal bone in my foot. You should really get an xray. Good luck ! I hope it is just sprained. :hi:

6. Yepper, I'd get an x-ray
Edited on Sun Jun-22-08 06:26 PM by bluecrush
Best to get it diagnosed and properly healed the first time around.

7. Just rub some dirt on it and get back out there!
Oh, wait a minute, this ain't football. This isn't football is it? If it is football, then that's what you got to do. At least that's what I tell my players anyway.

As for you missie, you did this at work I take it? If so did you file a report? Regardless, you better get it looked at (x-ray too). Purple, swollen and pain when bearing weight sounds like more than a bruise. In the meantime, ice the hell out of it. Use a bucket with ice/water and soak for about five to ten minutes at a time, no more. Keep elevated. See a doctor. Sorry.

Anyway it is a work injury but I own the company I work for. So I already reported it to myself.;)

I have got my leg propped up on the dash right now.

13. Gotcha.
No movie I can remember, but as I told my son the other day, I do come up with some decent stuff on my own from time to time!:)

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon, and do get it looked at.:hi:

11. Hi Littlebit.
I'm very sorry. That sounds horrible. :(

I hope you are going to see a doctor tomorrow. If it's broken, I hope it's simple and clean and I hope it heals well.

Be well. Take care of yourself.

12. What kind of pallet jack? A motorized one, or a regular little hydraulic one with a load?
Edited on Sun Jun-22-08 06:43 PM by oktoberain
I used to be a jack driver in a factory once upon a time, and I saw someone get their foot run over with a motorized pallet jack carrying a 2000 lb load. Definitely not pretty. :(

Edit: I was not the one who ran over their foot, just so you know, lol

14. It was a motorized one.
I had a pallet of empty pepsi cans on it. I think those pallets only weigh about 350lbs. All I know is it hurt like hell. I think I am going to stick to driving and let someone else do the unloading.

16. Yeesh. With the motorized ones, the jack alone weighs
about 1000 lbs. :(

Hope you're feeling better soon.

17. RICE
Rest
Ice
Compress
Elevate

That's what you are supposed to do for a sprain. It sounds like it would be good advice to follow until you can get to a doctor. Good luck.
