Poll question: Your Favorite CHEAP TRICK Album |
|
There are no choices after about 1985, because I didn't buy any Cheap Trick albums after that.
I'm choosing "All Shook Up" for personal reasons... It may not be the very best, but it's my favorite.

1. Their first two were the best |
|
as with every other band I can think of.
The version of "I Want You" on In Color is head-and-shoulders better than the live version on Budokan.

6. All Shook Up is connected to my life in a big way |
|
I was listening to that album when I was on an extended vacation in Europe years ago. Everytime I put it on, I'm back to those memories. I love Cheap Trick, I liked everthing up to One on One, then it went downhill until their recent release on Red Ant records (which went under not long ago).
I got a chance to see them live about 6months ago, and they were incredible.

12. I saw them live two or three times during the early years |
|
before Budokan.
Years later, I was reading Rolling Stone about some of the complaints about bands getting huge and selling out -- R.E.M., Metallica -- and I knew exactly what they meant.
Trick is still great and they mostly haven't deserted their roots, but a whole bunch of those albums from Dream Police on through...oh, I don't know, without getting into a big flambé about it, a bunch after that...
...let's just say weren't up to the standard they established.

8. I forgot about "Found all the Parts"! I had that on a 10" "NuDisk". |
|
It had a pretty good single..."Such a Good Girl".
I can't think of Cheap Trick without thinking od Damone from Fast Times at Ridgemeont High, constantly scalping tickets nobody wants.
