Hey, tobacco execs: Tell me again about how smoking's not addictive? |
|
The drugstore for which I make deliveries just got a new customer: an elderly woman who is on chemo for her lung cancer. The treatment has caused her to lose almost all of her hair, which makes the poor woman look even *more* sick and frail.
When I got to that customer's house this evening to deliver a prescription, she was sitting at the kitchen table, smoking a cigarette! I thought I was going to puke.
So please, kindly tobacco executives: Tell me again how those who smoke only do so by choice and can quit any time they want? Thanks! :nuke: :grr:

1. They don't have to tell you it's addictive. |
|
You know it's addictive. Everyone who smokes knows it's addictive. Most people who even *think* about smoking know it's addictive.
The result: People smoke anyway.

2. I'll attest to that. I don't smoke for the enjoyment of it... |

I smoke because I NEED the nicotine.
