I hate floods!
God fucking dammit! A levee broke just north of me today, and now I can't reach one of the major highways, its flooded, and my neighborhood just turned into a peninsula in the area. I live on a hill surrounded by a floodplain. Not to mention the power went out today, because, don't ask me why, but the power company puts those big fucking transformers ON THE FLOODPLAIN, how fucking stupid is that?

I'm not in any danger, but I expect we'll be inudated with frogs pretty soon, just like what happened during the Great Flood of '93. Yeah, we actually call it that, but think about what happened then:

This is what my county normally looks like, with the rivers in their proper channels, yes, I live between the Mississippi and Missouri rivers:

Anyways, this is what it looked like in 1993:

The Missouri River wasn't at our doorstep, but go north to the end of our street and go down Ehlmann and you ended up hitting it. We went to the highest peak in our neighborhood and literally the water was stretching all the way to the horizon all around us, it was weird.

Thanks for thinking of me.

4. Wow.
:(

I'm very sorry you're dealing with this.

You're right, it is stupid to put a transformer on a flood plane. You'd think power companies would take the long view and plan for things like this.

Are authorities giving you any idea how long it'll be before the flooding recedes and things get back to normal?
