I turned it into a book, a novel, and just heard from
my agent that it's going to be published by MacAdam/Cage
up there in San Francisco. It has not hit me yet. First
novel published at 62. Never give up. And much of the thanks
goes to DU and the Lounge folks who made that thread into
a world-shattering phenomenula. For anybody who got no
frlipping idea what or which Oscar the Mixed Animal

I fell in love with him! So much so, I swear I saw him drifting along in a small, red dinghy over by the sandspit one morning. 193. It's like regular novel length. At first, it was a (shudder) "novella"

according to a previous agent as well as my new one,
which made it difficult to sell. 37,000 words. On the
advice of both agents and others, I lengthened it, because
I had the material and because it remained as much of a joy
working on as a novel as it was in the thread. So I made
it about twice as long, put in a semblance of a plot, etc.
Now comes the "tightening" part with my editor. I dont want
to give away too much stuff with a synopsis, but I will say
that my agent said it was the worse query letter she ever read!
