How many here read Playboy?
For the ARTICLES, you pevs! :P

Seriously, I do enjoy the articles, interviews, reviews, etc, and really can care less about the latest photoshopped (used to be airbrushed) Playmates.

2. I actually quoted Playboy in an academic paper.
Series. They interviewed Yassir Arafat, and he said something salient, so I quoted him and placed the appropriate bookmark. The professor actually checked the source to be sure I wasn't messing with his head. :D

3. No
The pictorials are usually pretty bland. I've read a few good, serious articles online but good articles are the exception rather than the rule, imo.

4. I remember the Carter interview...

But I honestly can't say I ever bought one strictly for the words. But there have been some great interviews. Carter, MLK, Henry Miller, Bob Dylan, Timothy Leary, etc. Bought it for the pics but wound up reading it.

I think the girls peaked in the seventies. They've kinda abandoned their "girl next door" philosophy for their models.

Don't seem to buy many print magazines of any sort these days what with the internet. If I'm traveling, I might pick up a copy of the Atlantic, but I usually just carry a book.

6. I have read them before, but only because my old roommate gave me a stack of them
because his girlfriend didn't approve of him having 'porn'. :P And I actually got bored enough to read the articles.

7. I used to
Had a subscription from the mid '80s through the early '90s. The first in-depth article about Viet Nam I ever read was in Playboy: "The Unreturning Army" by Phillip Caputo.

It had some great humor and, of course, many of the interviews were outstanding.

12. Used to. Some of the articles were first rate
but for porn, it's useless. For my tastes anyway. No Brazilian Fart Porn.

Need the Internet for that
