10. I drink the cola drink.
And when I do, I order a cola. But I'm funny that way.

Around these parts (SoCal), it was a coke when I was a kid (60s and 70s), but somewhere between then and now it became a soda. I dunno what happened.

"Pop" always sounded silly and a bit childish to me. And I've never heard Coke used as the generic term for soda.

38. out of curiosity, how long have you lived in Georgia?
Coke as the generic term is a southern thing, and while I haven't been to Georgia since I was a wee lad, I'd heard from others that such usage was even more common there than farther to the west (which made sense since Coke was centered in Atlanta).

44. Let me make this perfectly clear

Pop

Soda. Seen here with brandy. Often seen with various types of whiskey. Answers to Seltzer when found alone but Whiskey and Seltzer is hard to pronounce audibly at a crowded and loud bar.

Coke.

Baking powder

that prefix highways with "the"; THE 190, THE 290. Those two areas are Buffalo/Erie County and California. WHat's the connection?
