I'm proofreading papers for someone I'm not getting along with...yay! |
|
Estranged friend...I can't watch potentially good academic papers go bad. He'll never get them published in the state they're currently in.
He should pay me. :P
Eh, it's good exercise while I'm out of school. :)

3. Nah, I'm academically pure... |

I like to see good work get published, even if it needs some rehab.

5. I'm actually really good at Sudoku, but |
|
I only do it during boring classes when I don't have to pay attention. :)
I've been in a funk for a few weeks, and I need to snap out of it. I've just been doing nothing and knitting...Time to get back in the saddle, or something.

For example (on a personal note), I've been processing claims and doing underwriting for the last couple weeks. Really woke my senses back up for a part of my industry I don't normally touch. I'm really happy for it.
Gotta keep that mind working.

4. I just did the same for a neighbor. |
|
Although I do get along with her. ;)
She's a professor, and she always asks me to proofread her papers, since English is not her first language. She offered to take me out for sushi this weekend, but it seems like a small return on the work I did.

This person's first language is English, you just wouldn't know it. Smart as a whip, just not a terribly good writer, technically speaking. Track Changes is leaving a swath of red.
