Stoopid Cubital Tunnel Syndrome!! Grrrr...
It's flaring up, and making it difficult to knit. Sigh...I hate getting older.

What is cubital tunnel syndrome?

Cubital tunnel syndrome is pressure on the ulnar nerve behind the funny bone causing numbness and tingling in the ring and small fingers of the hand.

What Causes Cubital Tunnel Syndrome?

In normal subjects, bending the elbow causes the nerve to stretch several millimeters. When this is done repeatedly for activities that require repeated bending and straightening of the elbow in the workplace, the nerve becomes irritated and inflamed. In other patients, the nerve shifts and actually snap over the prominence of the medial epicondyle. This snapping motion stretches and irritates the nerve. Leaning on the elbow, or resting the elbow on an elbow rest during a long distance drive or running machinery may cause repetitive pressure and irritation on the nerve. A direct hit on the tunnel may damage the ulnar nerve.

1. Ouch.
I teach ceramics and crochet so I feel that! Hope it clears up quickly.

2. It comes and goes...I've been leaning on it too much.
Like when I'm laying on the couch, I like to lay on my side to use my laptop. I'm knitting a few rows, taking a break, knitting a few rows, etc.

I need to learn crochet. I've never gotten the hang of it, even though I can tat. Then again, I'm a self taught knitter, so I'm weird. :)

3. I'm a failed knitter.
I keep trying to "crochet" with the needles! :)

4. I tried crochet before I tried knitting, and failed miserably...
I kept getting all tangled up. I should try it again sometime. I'm the only knitter in the family, that I know of. :)
