I got my first check from Sprawl Mart today...
it was pitiful. I worked my ass off for 79.5 hours, and got paid $150 less than what I thought I was going to get.

I feel like crying.

1. I know you don't want to hear this
but is it too late to go back to school?

2. Nope...
I was just doing some research online, and I can still get grants if I move to another state (since I didn't graduate yet). My parents plan on moving to South Dakota (yuck) in three to six months, and I am thinking I'll go out there to finish my degree. So that means I'll have to put up with this menial job for the time being. x(

3. Well, if it's only a few months, you can stick it out
Can you get a job at somewhere like Star*ucks where you can get tips?

4. Nope.
The only other job I could get in town is a fast food worker. I could work at McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Hardees, or Dairy Queen, but then I'd get paid even less than I am now. And with the way the housing market is, it might take a year for my parents to sell their house. Who knows. I'll just have to tough it out somehow.

7. I made more money in four days at my last job...
than I do in two weeks here. I like everything about my current job (except of course where I work and how much I'm being paid) than I did at my last job. I absolutely hated my last job, but it paid great. Can't I have it both ways? Sigh.

Thanks for your support. I really do hope it all works out. :hi:

6. Sorry man
I know those places find ways to make your check shrink. Things will turn around.

9. *HUG* Dead-end jobs suck...
From one dead-end wage slave to another...

Definitely get back in school, however you can.
That's one of the few things that keeps me going despite the sinkholes.

11. I'll try...
but I maxed out all of my state grants. I don't know how I'll pay for it unless I move to another state. Then I may have a shot.

And yes, dead end jobs suck. People who work dead end jobs for a living deserve to get paid more.

10. I know how you feel.
We have all had crappy jobs. Hopefully you won't have to be there much longer.

12. I hope I won't have to be there for more than another six months.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
