A long time ago there was an educational show with the great title of "The Day the Universe Changed", and sneaking downstairs to watch this as a kid on "Friday Night Videos" was one of those "Dave Bowman in the monolith" moments, much like the first time I played a video game. The visual animations, the music, lyrics and theme all struck a chord with me, and I was both dazzled by and fearful of this gateway which had beyond it the evolution of the music video -- a fine blend of artistry, computer visuals, pop music, satire, social commentary, commercialization and the list goes on to infinity...IMO, to me at least, it is the anthem of mid-80s MTV...

Did I really write all that? i need some sleep...
