I'm growing rat tail radishes as an experiment. They're supposed to do better in moderate heat because the above ground pods are what's edible rather than the root. The SO thinks it's not going to work.

They look like your gone-to-seed ones except the seed pod is the edible, radish-like section. They are unusual. http://www.kitchengardeners.org/2005/10/rat-tailed_radish.html
