I'm in a really crappy, crabby, cranky mood
I'm driving myself nuts, I hate feeling this way. Like I could burst into tears or go into a rage at any moment. I don't even know WHY (other than the usual shit of my life and the state of US politics and all the other everyday things I worry about) I feel like this. How can I get myself to snap out of this mood? I'd be tempted to take a nap or get drunk in the hopes that I'd feel better in the morning but I'm up all night working and I'm MISERABLE.

1. I've been kinda feeling that way today too
really anxious like something bad is going to happen but I have no idea what or why I feel this way. I'm at work right now and so swamped I can't stand it so here I am posting on DU. I'm sure that will make things better.

5. Try to think positively.
Worry is negative fantasy. I know that sounds trite and new age mumbo jumbo. But don't think stuff like "I'm miserable". Today is a good day,and it is the first day of the rest of my life.

6. I know the feeling
I've been there. Hell, these days it seems I spend most of my time there. And not knowing why only makes it worse.

I'm sorry. And it will pass. I know it sounds trite and cliche, but it really will.

Chocolate. And/or ice cream.

I know...my prescription for you is a whole pint of Cherry Garcia. To hell with a bowl, just the container and a spoon and something silly on tee vee.

7. My rx is music therapy.
Honestly, happy or soothing music can charm the savage beast. The endorphins are released, you start humming, and there you go.

Some deep breathing, perhaps? A break with a piece of chocolate?
