Cat people - does your cat do somersaults in ecstasy? |
|
Morrissey gets up against the wall and does a little somersault to expose his belly for scratching. Among his other adorable behaviors, this is one of the cutest.

Reese tries to get "pony rides" from Mouse though.
Mouse is thoroughly not amused by this.

2. My dog does something similar to that. |
|
He lays on his back and flops all fours around like a baby, and wiggles his back to get a back scratch from the carpet. He won't stop till he gets a belly scratchin'.
Brain damage, I tells ya. It's a good thing I just lurves him and his silly antics.

3. my orange marmalade tabby Keiko does that |
|
He tucks his head under, and does a somersault/rollover. Not against the wall, just anywhere. Also, if you hold the end of his tail, he does the rollover. Also does it if you whistle at him. Yes, it's adorable. And yes, he wants the tummy scratch. I love that cat and his orange and white ringtail.

4. Lucky does the "brain drain." |
|
Why b/w female Lucky rolls over on to her back, complete with the head upside down, to get belly scritches and chin scratches.
I call it "letting her brains fall out." :-)

All my fur babies are too. And why I loves them all so much. "drain bamage" is a term of endearment around here.

6. Used to have a grey tabby named Opie, who would do open floor somersaults. |
|
I knew he was different early on when, as a kitten, I found him up in a kitchen cabinet that he had opened, sitting in and eating an apple pie that I had stored there.
I was so astonished that he had scaled the cabinet, and opened it, and gotten the tupperware container open, that I just let him go to town for a while.

8. I have a cat whose belly I've just recently started rubbing. She loves it. |
|
Don't know why we hadn't figured it out two years ago. But I think it is her new favourite thing. And she'll get down on the floor and roll around presenting her stomach to me. I love it. And yes it is cute.

9. Sounds like the tuck-and-roll. |
|
All of my cats but the oldest do this with varying frequency, but none seems to need a wall for it. Some seem to want their bellies rubbed, and sometimes they want you to think they want tummy-rubbin's...until they attack.
