Sorry, Dad - but baseball is BOR-ING
Although I did enjoy myself at the Giants game I attended last summer...

My dad was a baseball fanatic. Besides remembering everyone in the world's birthdays, he was a veritable encyclopedia of baseball stats. His favorite teams were the Cardinals and the Royals. It just didn't rub off on me - I'm a football fan. I know the two aren't mutually exclusive, but I fail to see the big attraction to baseball.

3. It's not a game to gaze into
I love baseball, because its the only game you can move around, talk, drink, get shitfaced, and then take public transit back from.

The game is good, but I am not a baseball diamond gazer.

4. Yes, yes — baseball is So Boring!
Especially in comparsion to the thrill-per-second, jam-packed excitement of football:

On first and 10, each team holds a meeting, then turns and walks toward the ball. The ball is snapped, and one guy gives it to another guy, who runs about six feet with it.

A minute or so ticks by.

Now it's second and 8, and each team holds another meeting, then turns and walks toward the ball. The ball is snapped, and one guy gives it to another guy, who runs about seven feet with it.

Another minute or so ticks by.

Now it's third and 6, and each team holds yet another meeting, then turns and walks toward the ball. The ball is snapped, and one guy throws it somewhere in the same area code as another guy, or maybe he intentionally throws it off the playing field. Or maybe he's tackled.

Another minute or so ticks by.

Now it's fourth and 6, and each team holds still another meeting — dog knows why, since everybody on the planet knows what's gonna happen. The ball is snapped, and a guy kicks it to another guy, who holds up one hand so the other team can't touch him and then catches the ball, or lets it bounce into the end zone where it's dead.

After five minutes of commercials, the process starts over.

5. Compared to baseball
1. First Inning: Lots of standing around. Some crotch-grabbing. Some spitting. More standing around. More spitting. A pitch here and there. Maybe a swing. Some more spitting. More standing around. The cycle of the seasons goes through two or three complete rotations.

2. Second Inning: Same as above

3. Third Inning: Ib id.

etc...
