1. *insert frowny face here*
Alas, no pictures from me today... I seem to have misplaced my SD card reader. :( No way to transfer the files from my camera. And my 2 gig SD card was in the reader last I saw it and it had some personal data on there, so I have personal data out there wandering about alone. Nothing too personal, no nekkid pics. But still. Stuff that I'd rather not lose and that I'd rather not have other people looking at.

Ah well. C'est la guerre. If it's gone, it's gone.

I can post old pics though. :)

4. Thank the gods I'm not the only one...
I have never beaten a computer at chess. I'm okay against people, but for some reason I inevitably screw up against a computer. Even on the easiest of easy modes.

5. it's because they don't think like people.
like, as a player i'm very predictable. i always use the same opening moves. you can see through a person's moves, a computer is somewhat different.

6. That, and they tend not to make any stupid mistakes to equal the ones I make now and then.

7. computers don't MAKE mistakes at all, the only way to beat them is to
have a better strategy.

8. Exactly.
And like I said, I have a tendancy to make at least one or two stupid mistakes halfway through. :)

Against a human that might be recoverable... against a machine, not so much.

9. My thing is, I need to vary my moves because I am too easy to counter and predict.
Maybe I should play yahoo chess.

10. I should probably start playing again period.
I'm sure my skills have atrophied.

Same with Texas Hold'em. That's a game with as much strategy as chess, IMO. And I haven't played in a while.

11. Hold'em is alright, but overrated. I prefer 3-card Bragg. Fast-paced and cutthroat.

13. I love chessmaster ... start at the bottom of the personalities .. then work up the list ...
And go through the tutorials ... they are great.
