2. history repeats...
The pacers will begin to lose like crazy, the lake-show will begin to get serious. Once the Titanic has been turned around, they will again become unstoppable. Phil Jackson is the greatest coach of all time in the NBA.
When thinking about what I just said, keep in mind I detest the lakers. Absolutely despise them...

3. I hate the Lakers too.
But with a starting line of Garnett, Sprewell, Cassell, Olowokandi and Szczerbiak, I think the Wolves could take the Lakers in any post-season series.

5. I'll give it up to the T-Wolves
Love watching them play. KG and Spree are favorites of mine.

I am genetically programmed to hate everything about the Lakers.

But Minnesota has a pitiful history in the NBA playoffs.

Plus, winning the regular season doesn't necessarily ensure playoff wins.

And if Malone comes back, the Lakers will be tough.

Right now, I'd put my imaginary money on San Antonio. The Kings won't roll over, either.

Damn, the West is tough!

4. The Caveliers are looking real good right now
I watched the Spurs lose to a relentless Cleveland team in the last seconds tonight.

10. I love and root for the T-Wolves, but
KG and Spree are NOT clutch shooters. There's no team I'd rather see win it all, but I'd hate to be leaning on their 12-15 foot jump shots at crunch time. Even so, if the Lakers continue their self-destruction with Shaq weighing 360, and Chris Webber continues as King loser, the T-Wolves could go ALL THE WAY!

9. Spurs
People always forget the Spurs.

Who won over 85% of their games after the All Star break the last three years. Yeah, they start slow. It takes a while for everybody to get into the new system.

The Wolves are a good team. I want to see KG get out of the first round before I dub them anything but the new Kings or Mavs.

If nothing else, remember: Since 1994, either Robert Horry or Steve Kerr has been on the team that won the championship. Robert Horry plays for the Spurs this year. :D

11. Speaking of the Sperms,
Is it my imagination, or has Tim Dunkin' gotten into better shape recently? Looks to me like he's lost some body fat, lighter on his feet?

16. I dunno
BTW, that is a really offensive nickname for the team. I don't mind changing team nicknames (i.e. Fakers, TPups, etc.) but that one is just offensive in general, and rather juvenile.

14. I agree completely
By the end of the season, the Spurs will be the best team in the NBA.
I really like their "make-up."

Duncan is great and all but I really like Tony Parker's influence down the stretch. The Spurs could use another guard off the bench, but I think they would beat Minnesota in a playoff series.

The Spurs and Lakers will play for the right to destroy whatever dregs surface from the Eastern Conference (IMO, probably the Pacers or the Pistons.) Don't count out the Nets as Eastern Conference darkhorses either.

18. as for another guard off the bench
That's why we picked up Charlie Ward, who's now the best quarterback in Texas. :D

He's got the rest of the season to get used to the system and the team.

The Sonics. Oi. Y'all do have issues. At least you're not the Hawks. Can you imagine being a Hawks fan?

If the Nets come out of the East again, no problems at all. They're the Buffalo Bills of the NBA.

The Pistons and Pacers are a bit scarier. Great coaching (although Larry Brown is horribly overrated. What has he ever actually won?) and they actually play Western Conference style basketball. But I don't see them handling the Spurs/Wolves/Kings in 7.

I don't the see the Lakers getting out of the second round, to be honest. Heck, they may not make it out of the first. Right now, they look to be in a 4/5 matchup with Dallas.

Who knows what's going to happen with them? Shaq could get injured again. Payton may decide to eat somebody else. (Why isn't he suspended? Kicked out of three of the last ten games? :wtf:) Kobe may decide to "move some boxes" again. Malone may be day to day some more. These guys haven't played together as a foursome since, what, October?

Lakers are done.
