Poll question: Which book should I read next
I rarely do this but I'm asking for you wise{ass} lounge denizens to make a decision for me via the almighty DU poll feature. ;)

I've just have to much responsibility and 'decider' overload lately so I'm handing off this little bit.

I'm really on an ancient classics tear and I've just finished "The Histories" by Herodotus - which was a really fun read (yes I said fun, I'm that much of a geek I guess)

So I'm considering either "Greek epic fragments from the seventh to the fifth centuries BC" / edited and translated by Martin L. West (I want to read the Cypria)

Or maybe Thucydides' "History of the Peloponnesian War"

Or a modern novel I've been wanting to read: "The Yiddish Policemen's Union" by Michael Chabon

You can't go wrong with anything from Michael Chabon. A brilliant writer.

2. Take a break from the ancients and enjoy the Chabon novel
then go back to the ancients.

I get engrossed in a period or location myself from time to time then I just have to 'go somewhere else' in my reading.

Then either go back to where I was, or get sucked into a different place, period, genre, whatever.

4. I've read parts of Herodotus and also found it fun
So I kind of lean toward either Greek epic fragments or the Peloponnesian War, neither of which I've checked out. :hi:

5. Bonk
I'm waiting for the library copy right now. I loved Mary Roach's "Stiff" and "Spook", and the idea of her taking on the science of sex is too much to resist.
