I went to IKEA for the first time ever today |
|
Wow, that place is hypnotizing...
On the plus side, I found all the bedroom furniture I want; I know my SO will turn cartwheels of joy when he learns that he gets to pick it up and assemble it.

And I LOVE assembling their furniture. I can't go there too often, b/c I always come home with waaaay more than I intended to purchase.
:hi:
Our bed is from Ikea, and I f'n love it. Can never move though, since if I have to take it apart, I'll never get it back together.

2. Can you make a trip to Michigan in August? |
|
I'll be ready for the furniture by then and you can probably assemble it faster than SO can. And I have two friends who are knitting maniacs who you can hang out with when you're finished! :hi:

She'll need to keep Kittimus away from the yarn, though.
Just saw her and the Grumpy Jr's at a baseball game Tuesday night -- fun time!

I saw it at Target today. Glad you enjoyed IKEA. We don't have those in Oklahoma that I know of. Duckie

The cafeterias are priced well, too. I like the way they think, how they shape and package the products in a way that allows more items to be packed on a pallet, thereby making lower prices. The furniture is decent quality, and usually, you can find what you need.

14. My boyfriend is in love with their lighting dept. |
|
He always seems to find an excuse for buying something. We have so much LED-lighting in this house thanks to IKEA it's unreal. Though it did save us several thousand dollars since we didn't have to hire a lighting designer. :)
Not a big fan of their furniture but I did find a few things that are cute.

15. The Secret to Ikea - go straight to the market place and avoid the showrooms |
|
Because thats where they make you want to redo your whole house in IKEA everything.
This may make me sound like a cheap ass bastard - but when they have slippers, dishes, towels, blankets and backpacks dirt cheap (like .99 for slippers, $5 for backpacks) I buy a shitload and donate them to shelters. I can't afford to buy more expensive stuff to donate and I would rather buy 20 prs of slippers than 5 prs for the same price.
The sad thing is my husband...bless his heart.. has yet to put together any piece of furniture correctly - there is always something off... but he tries and he gets so damn excited to bust out the power tools.

17. Ikea is way too much fun |
|
It's a pain to put the stuff together, but it's pretty easy and the stuff looks decent and is cheap. Cool place.
