All in almost perfect condition. I guess no one wants what I like to read.

1. No, Half Price Books just wants to preserve a big profit margin!
What they offer for books is pathetic. I took a bunch there last year when I was in Dallas, and their offer was so lame that I said "no, thanks". Figured I'd be further ahead (or at least come out about the same) by donating them to charity and taking the tax deduction.

I DO love shopping there, though, and really wish they would open some stores in Oklahoma (wish the same of Trader Joes, and Costco, and...)

2. I've been disappointed with the amounts offered by Half Price
I know they have to make a profit, but if I wanted to give my books away, I'd offer them on Craigslist.

3. I took a box load of AD&D stuff there some years back
I took a box load of AD&D (Dungeons and Dragons for the not so terminable dorks around here) stuff there some years back when I had The Ultimate from my then girlfriend, "You''re too damn old to be playing that stuff! Grow up or get out!" (The conversation was a bit more diplomatic than that, but the results were the same).

So I took all of it (the ENTIRE first edition G-D-Q series among it  ) to Half Price, and even the clerk couldn't believe it the final tally-- $225 for all of it!

When I got home that evening, she excitedly asked me "what are we going to do with the money?" I replied with, "I don't know what *we're* going to do with it, but *I'm* going to the Cowboys game next week with Brian!"

It's not so sad-- rumor has it that file sharing programs aren't just for music and movies-- chances are, I've electronically recovered everything in pdf files I had plus gads more... :)
