I expect more from my family and friends.

Something a little special. I'm always expecting my birthdays to be a little more special than any other day, and am ALWAYS disappointed.

P.S. a couple remembered a few forgot. Got into a bit of a fight with my Mom. I jumped the gun in thinking they wouldn't phone me, but I didn't want to hear my Mom's speech about she expected me to act different from my other siblings. I am different, that's the point, I remember them, but didn't want to hear about how tough everything is in the family, how long a week it's been, yes, I know it has been, can somebody just say "Happy Birthday"?

Last year i got 2 cards (I have 3 sons and only one card was from one of them)

When I was a child, my parents made a big deal about my B-Day but ONLY with my immediate family.
They did that for all seven of us. We each felt special ONE day of the year.

But when I grew up, that didn't happen much, if at all. I was let down at first too
so, then I planned ahead and made it MY special day, with or with out others help. ;)

Gormy is right! Plan a day for yourself and if others join, even better.
If not? Then you still had a great day! :D
