I just spent 4 hours cooking |
|
Sun-dried tomato chicken pasta with capers.
Tamale casserole.
Tossed cucumber salad.
27 cup cakes with fudge frosting.
My brother and his wife just had a baby!!!! Taking copious amounts of food for them so that they don't have to cook!
I am pooped!
What is DU up to this sunday?

1. Oh, what a nice SIL you are! Wish I'd had someone bring me food when I had my kids. |

2. You've inspired me for when my brother and SIL have their baby in August |
|
Me, I've done copious amounts of laundry and have nine shirts to iron. Linen, I love it but it's a pain.

5. That is soooo thoughtful |

and I know it will be much appreciated. I had both my babies in winter, and no one wanted to travel out to visit us. It was so lonely coming home and still having to do all the housework and cooking. My wonderful angel of a neighbor dropped off some cooked meals for us, and it felt like we won the lottery! Good work.

of you to take care of them this way. It all sounds really good, too.
I feel your pain, tho. Yesterday, in addition to laundry, grocery shopping and meals, which I kept very simple, I made yogurt, rye bread, and a batch of strawberry preserves. Today I made another batch of strawberry preserves before breakfast, then since breakfast I've made everything bagels, homemade baked mac and cheese, oatmeal raisin bars, cut up a pineapple, a muskmelon, and a watermelon. Managed to keep all the dishes done as I went. I'm now pooped out.
