I used to can a lot too. I may have to go back to it.
I'm sorry that I gave away my canning jars and equipment now. :(

6. It only took 5 hours from start to finish - I was surprised how well it went |
|
Right now I'm eating peas in fresh local heavy cream and drinking a mighty fine strawberry daiquari...

j/k Enjoy those wonderful garden treats. When are you getting some salmon? At least down on the southern coast salmon and peas were the classic 4th of July dish.

7. Actually, I'm going to have char-broiled landlocked salmon tomorrow when my bro' arrives |
|
I caught a 4 pounder ice fishing New Year's Day and I have been saving it for vacation this week.
Going to have it with fiddleheads and Bakwell Cream biscuits...and homebrewed organic hard cider...
:)
Oh yeah I scored 10 lbs of fiddlheads @ $2 a pound at Wells Farm in Wilton (the Belle of Maine folks) this spring - if you contact them next year, they might be able to FedEx some fresh stuff out your way...worth a try...

8. Man, I only did up two quarts of frozen berries and 1 batch of jam. |
|
Kids' birthday party today, so I had to do the cakes and all, so I'll need to get more strawberries this week and put up more jam.
Oh, and I managed to find a sauce thing at the hardware store for a good price, so that'll help with the tomato sauce this summer. Yay!
