I nominate me. My name blows. I was never intending to stay long. SO I signed up as "HEyHEY" as in "Hey Hey" and it stuck.

Capitals with the lower case y in the middle, taking 'Hey Hey' and making it new and refreashing.
Sorry but I have always been very impressed by the name. :P

I never really spoke it out either (the 'Hey Hey') it is just a very recognisable collection of symbols with a meaning very very vaguely in the distance.
Or at least it used to be anyway.

12. Just to chuck out an idea |
|
It is getting to be very noticable that I am having trouble in my physical life remembering people's names. It is starting to feel funny to actually have to mouth a name out in sounds as opposed to just recognising the shape of a few characters strung together.
It is a possible thought that it feels like my 'name recognition circuitry' has been converted from .wav format to .jpg.
Either that or I am just going senile.

whose posting names are a very common saying encoded up in different letters and although the different encoding has been done exceedingly well, and although the poster is instantly recognizable to me, it has actually taken me about 18 months to get the joke before, and that is after a bit of inadvertant prompting to think about the poster name.

19. I think mine's worse, HEyHEY - |
|
Ever since I got online I've used "Madrone" as a username - for everything. Madrone1972 works in a pinch, if Madrone has been taken.
When they started requiring registration for this site, I didn't register for a long while because most posts already reflected what I thought, so I saw no need to post "me too" posts.
Finally, I had a reply to something, so I registered. Around the same time, the GOP had done their subliminal "RATS" commercial and got busted for it. Being born in 1972 makes me a RAT, and I also have rats as pets (they're awesome!) so I registered as PROUD DemocRAT as a 'FU' to the repubs - because rats as animals are awesome, and hell, I AM a rat!
I wish I had gone with Madrone - as it suits me much better and I've had a lot of people in the past question my integrity as a DUer because I use RAT in my moniker. But, WTH - I've got it now, and I'm sticking to it!
BTW- I use Madrone because around the first time I ever got online I had just finished reading "The Fifth Sacred Thing" by Starhawk, and Madrone was a wonderful character in the book. It's also the name of a tree, and I LOVE trees - so it is well suited to me.

When I signed up I didn't realize there was another user w/ a similar user name (Lydia Leftcoast). When I found out, I felt like a poacher. I've been contemplating a user-name change, but can't think of one yet.
