I Think I Grow Less Tolerant To The Heat Every Year |
|
It's just awful. Walk out, get in my car, drive somewhere and it's like a sauna in the car.
Sauna outside.
Want to live where it is cooler. Isn't going to happen anytime soon. :(

2. Weird, I've noticed that as well this year... |
|
And I live in NE, where we are supposed to cherish the summer. But the heat and even more, the humidity, is killing me this year. Completely intolerable, and I don't think I'm perimenopausal yet. I hope! :o

3. I think that's generally true as we age |
|
I used to exercise in 100 degree heat, but 90 is my absolute limit anymore. Conversely, I can stand the cold much better than I used to. It hardly seems to phase me at all until it hits freezing.

snow is different, can take that better, but that 32-40 degree rain is awful
Used to run in 90+ but no more
don't run
heat for exercise kills me
rather go to the gym

and couldn't WAIT to get back to the heat and humidity. Before AC, Illinoisans would go to Wisconsin for vacations because it was a way to get away from the heat. Now they just do it to annoy the locals. But I NEED the 3 h's--hazy, hot, and humid! I was FREEZING in Wisconsin! I ended up buying socks because my feet were cold and, well, who takes socks with you in July?!!
But down here, I haven't had the AC on yet, except while I was gone over the 4th, so the cats could have windows closed during the fireworks noise. I'm like corn--I need heat and humidity. I love it!
So, I'm sorry you're not happy. But I don't understand it, either.
Critters a balmy 86 with 60% humidity. Somebody turn on the heat!

Can't even imagine what that might feel like. Me--sixth generation Illinoisan. My nervous system's thermostat has no dehumidifier attached. Hope you feel better soon! :hi:

I was raised near Palm Springs, California, and dry heat - no biggie. I now live in NC, and feel like I'm going to go insane when the humidity rises (fortunately we're in the mountains now, and the really bad days are few and far between).
Could you consider New Mexico? Someday?
