The second photo is interesting. Is the woman behind you doing a mudra? Any idea of what that hand thing means?

About the woman (Tahira)'s brother's family - apparently some not-to-wonderful things have happened, and they had all been speaking with concerned looks on their faces. So I guess they weren't really in the mood for my picture-taking!

The woman in the second photo had just reminded me that she'd met me at musical parties at Tahira's house. I think the hand gesture might have meant "Don't get me in the picture!"

And what's a mudra?

That's a poor explanation but I'm sure you can find a better explanation through Google. I learned about mudras in a yoga class.
