What's your favorite old school arcade game?
If you were to walk into an arcade/tavern/whatever and saw that game you'd have your next few hours scheduled, and you'd be out of parking meter food.

I have several, but the one that gets me every time is Karate Champ.

What's your's?

16. Any pinball machine. They're so rare today, I can't be picky.
Though if I had my 'druthers, I'd be playing one of those old Gottleib mechanical pinball machines, the ones with 3 plays for a quarter, 5 balls per play, and a reasonable number of points needed to win. It's been so long that I can't even remember the names of my favorite games. But as far as what I *might* be able to find, I'll take the Addams Family pinball machine anytime. Even though it's one of those fancy-schmancy electronic machines with one 3-ball play for I forget how much money--it's a good ride! :hi:

We had two pinball machines in our house in college and they were going 24/7. We finally had to make a rule that you couldn't play pinball after a certain time so the the folks in the room above the pinball room could get some sleep. :-)

28. Gosh, SO many that I loved...
I was a junkie for those things. Some of my all time faves (in no particular order):

Ms. Pac Man (never cared for Pac Man, though)
Phoenix
Tempest (LOVED those vector graphics)
Bezerk ("intruder alert! intruder alert!)
Zaxxon
720 (perhaps not old school by some standards, but loved it)
Double Dragon
Donkey Kong
Centipede
Defender (and the related Stargate)

And many, many others...

I also remember getting all psyched every time a popular game was being released for my Atari 2600... They'd always advertise them as "near-arcade quality" then I'd get it home and be all :wtf: is this crap???

44. Me too!
In fact, that was one of the games that used to break me. I'd keep feeding quarters until I finished the game... and start over. It took me watching other, older kids beating the game to learn how to do it. Great game, and one of the first (if not the first?) to allow a user to pick up dropped weapons to use in that fighting fashion.
