I'm prepping for Colonoscopy tomorrow -ask me anything!
Well at some point I'll have to leave and spend the evening in the bathroom. In throery the wifi will reach there, but I don't think Ill bother.

I'm about 3/4 through the liquid drano that I have to drink. Good Lord this stuff is awful. It's not that it tastes that bad, but it has the consistancy of phlemey spit and there'2s two freaking liters of it.

1. Colonoscopy easy compared to looking in your bladder.
Believe me.

3. Looking in bladder probably better than urodynamic tests.
Catheter, liquid, "tell me when you feel the urge". Uh, let's go back to catheter time.

8. Order of horror. Worst urodynamics test, kidney stones, upper GI, the colonoscopy.
That urodynamics test is one exquisitely horrific test.

6. So far
It's supposed to "Kick in" after about 2 hours. But I'm not sure if that's from the time you start, or the time you finish.

5. Pretty soon you will not be able to post anymore.
You will be occupied. ;) On the hand, the procedure is pretty easy if just slightly uncomfortable at the beginning but you should get good drugs. :)

11. Got through it - no problems
Slept through it. No discomfort. Everything looked OK. Just had my first solid food since Sunday.

A couple of my wife's former co-workers have colon cancer, so I know it's definitely worth somewhat unpleasant preparation.

12. If you have a shower with a removable shower arm...
you should hang your butt over the tub edge and use it to clean off with -- I swear to god.

I did TWO preps a couple of years back and the worst thing was the chapped ass I had from using all that damn toilet paper! I was using Cottonelle. too! The second go around, I was a few trips to the bathroom when I said enough of the TP, I need to try something else. Feeling very European, I just dropped trou and grabbed the shower head -- worked like a charm, and no butt chap. :D

I highly recommend it!

13. Enjoy the farting room afterwards....
My father-in-law was encouraged to blast away and the nurses, at least at this clinic, seemed to enjoy it.

14. Ah, well, too late to make this suggestion ...
at some point in the proceedings, you should pull out a hand mirror, open your mouth wide, and shout "I can see the light!"

15. That would have been good
Except I was out during the proceedure. When the tech explained the amnesia effect, I told her that I was looking forward to not remembering anything.

So far, no real nasty side effects except my hand is a little bruised from the IV.
