Goodbye my little Tiger Baby...

You will be missed. You were a good girl, and you brought so much joy and fun into our lives.


Tiger passed this evening at 9:20 PM. She was a first kitty baby, and my wife's wedding gift to me.
This is my tribute to her and she was a wonderful, active, loving little girl.

She was a chow hound...


She and I would discuss whether or not she would get a treat, she usually won...


Followed by some scratching...


We had our wrestling matches...


with dirty looks...


and the Danger Cat Moments...


Followed by me bleeding...


And that usually brought on the victory nap...


You were so much fun and I miss you terribly already. You were one of a kind. I see one of your bottle caps in the floor, and I so wish you would come and play with it. Or let me hear you mmmeOW WOW that you would do when you thought we had left you alone. Tiger Baby, we love you. I wish we could have had you in our lives longer but somethings are not meant to be. I will see you someday, and can't wait to rub your chin and kiss your head. Goodbye... Until we meet again.

3. She was a girl named Tiger...

As a kitten, the first night we got her, she was creeping up to get me and I said "OH NO, A TIGER IS GOING TO GET ME!" She looked right in my face when I said Tiger and has been named that ever since.

13. The Rainbow Bridge

A couple years ago, when my Petey had to leave me, someone posted this in my thread mourning his loss. It's apparently been around awhile, but I'd never read it, and it helped me. So, I pass it on ...

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to rainbow bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those fwho were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the rainbow bridge together.

In my experience, the only thing that makes me feel better after losing a kitty is, when you're ready, giving another kitty (or better yet -- two kitties), a chance to have a wonderful home and a beautiful life, instead of the inside of a shelter cage or euthanasia.
