All right, who else needs a valium???
Or maybe just a glass of red wine? ;-)

REALLY needed to break away from the religion thread. Wow, that's better. Phew!

So, isn't nice that we're having weather?

9. I don't think you wanna know.
Sorry, I posted and ran yesterday. It just gets to be too much sometimes. Nothing a good night's sleep can't cure. (That and a little blue pill.) ;-)

And today is another lovely day. I'm thankful for every day I've been given on this beautiful Earth.

3. What religion thread? I was bumming out on the
loss of jobs in the future thread and the climate change thread!!! Sometimes i think I like to make myself depressed. I just like to be prepared for the worst, I guess. Then when it comes out better I am pleased.

6. Yeah... I'm thinking about staying away from DU.
If you read everything on these boards, we're doomed as doomed can be and we might as well chomp the cyanide tablets now.

Personally, for the past few months, I've been nervous and depressed as hell over stuff that MIGHT happen in my personal situation, even though none of it has actually come to pass. Coincidentally or not, I've been spending a lot of time reading these boards, instead of doing things to make my situation better, like fixing up my house, or learning new skills, or even just clearing out the spare bedroom and eBaying a bunch of the stuff that's cluttering up the joint.

Is life too short to be consumed with worries based on every worst-case scenario and tinfoil-hat theory that fills these boards? Or is it really a necessary preparation for the inevitable?

And in the spirit of Richie Cunningham on the Happy Days Bomb Shelter episode, if it comes down to nuclear attack, and all my friends are killed, and my hometown is laid to waste, do I really want to survive that and try to carry on in the aftermath? Or will the living envy the dead?

Yeah, pass the damn valium... or zoloft... or oxycontin...

7. The Internet can be too much of an escape.
I find I have to limit myself. I was getting some paperwork together, taxes, kids financial aid, business receipts, etc. and came in for a break. But if I let myself, I could stay on for hours and that is not good.

11. I know.
I completely understand. A good balance is a necessity- especially for a newbie. Inform yourself, do what you can to make change, but try not to get too bogged down in the gloom and doom. There's not a whole lot in this world that we can actually control, if you know what I mean.

10. Already taking them.
The doctor prescribed them last week, when I began having spasms in my right hand. Legal drugs are ALWAYS the best kind!
