My kitty died today :(

After a short illness we had her euthanised at home. Calliope was a 16 year old calico, and my best friend in the world. I stay up a lot of nights writing, and the only thing that kept that from being crushingly lonely was my bright, affectionate little friend. I think I'm going to start sleeping at night now. She was the sweetest animal I've ever known. Goodnight my baby girl, I hope I gave you as much happiness as you gave me.

I'm totally heartbroken right now, and would appreciate any good thoughts, vibes, or anything you might have to spare.

Sweet Calliope no doubt knew how much she was loved, and it sounds as if she gave you lots in return. Doing the right thing is sometimes the hardest thing to do. We have 7 cats, and one is pushing 16 ... I know what's coming and I dread it so much.
