I remember in English class "Vowels are A, E, I, O, U, and sometimes Y and W".

I never saw a word in the US with W for a vowel. Some English major enlighten me please.

unlike a bunch of those other wacky Welsh words. People get quite vexed when they go through all the vowels AND y without hitting a match.
