Hell's Kitchen finale discussion thread (FULL OF SPOILERS!)
Edited on Wed Jul-09-08 07:08 AM by Rabrrrrrr
So, Christina won it - I'm glad. I liked her, and she was consistently competent and did pretty well. I liked Patrozza, too, and I would have been happy if he won - but if I were Ramsey, I'd have gone Christina.

And, man, did Jen prove herself to be the total childish jerk that she'd always acted like, and Matt to be the clueless shitwipe he's always been? Gods. If I'd have been Christina or Patrozza, I'd have been tempted, when picking teams, and it got down to just Matt and Jen, to have said, "I'll take the handicap of just two on my team, Chef; I don't want either of those sabotaging douchebags on my team".

What think you all? Happy with the win? Someone else you would rather have seen at the end?

I think overall that this season's Hell's Kitchen had the least talented people of any season.

1. I was surprised by the ending
I was really rooting for Petrozza, but Christina is undeniably talented.

And yes, this season's crew was much improved over the last couple of seasons. I think the producers were trying to up the douchebaggery content for a while, thinking that that's what draws viewers in. I hope they've since learned their lesson.

And I'm glad that I don't have to see Matt's ugly mug anymore. That man is seriously disturbing. Someone suggested to me that he is the spitting image of the Son of Sam killer, and that makes him even more scary.

2. I'm glad it was Christina, she seemed very talented. Although watching last night, it really seemed
like Petrozza did a better job, so I was shocked that she actually won.

If it was me, I would have thrown Jen out of the kitchen, that would have shown some guts and maybe added a few points in Petrozza's favor. She really was dragging things down and they only had to worry about 13 tables.

Matt has some serious issues, I'd have thrown his ass out as well, he was showing no respect at all and he was a total arse.

I really thought it would be Petrozza.

4. Going into the show, I was sure it would be Christina - but during the show,
Petrozza made an awesome showing. I, too, by the end, had no idea which door was going to open.

A part of me thought that Ramsey might have set it up to have both doors open, which would have been a great surprise. Co-executive chefs, perhaps. Especially since he praised both so highly.

But I see his reasoning as he said at the end - he's thinking long term, and Christina is a great tabula rasa for Ramsey to imprint himself upon and teach. Petrozza's a bit too old for that.

5. My wife mentioned the co-chef thing too, but I didn't get that vibe at all. You'll notice that
Ramsay's exec chefs are usually young-er, so I wasn't too surprised that he picked a 25 year old. Especially with his upbringing, being the young guy, fighting up the ranks. I think he's a bit biased towards the younger chefs.

6. I'd have thrown Jen out before the first order came in
I fucking hate that woman. In fact, the loser should have been able to push her sack of shit lying face into some boiling oil and then stab her in the neck as a compensatory second place reward. God, what a hideous thing she is on the inside.

8. She is one of the most vile and yet utterly un-self-aware people I've ever seen.
She has absolutely concept of how she behaves.

I vote for boiling oil as well.

10. We should write Gordon's reference letter for him
To whom it may concern,

The utter sleaze standing before you didn't merely crawl out of the arsehole of Hell's Kitchen, I believe it came from Hell itself. Never before have I seen such a wreck of an upbringing make it this far in life. You are probably already hearing her talk about how poor the receptionist is, and how Jen could do a better job. I strongly urge you to put down this letter, take her on a company tour including the roof, and make sure she falls off. Nothing under 20 floors will be high enough, sadly, as her skull has already shattered two of my best cleavers, and will probably do the same to cement. If you don't have a high-rise nearby, I suggest a subway tour of the city, or a ferry tour of the harbor. Or, just set her on fire.

Best,
Gordon

9. I agree that this season's contestants were lacking.
A great deal. It's especially obvious after just having finished the season of Top Chef. The chefs on that show are such a vastly different caliber that it is shocking.

Matt and Jen were there JUST to give us people to hate and to sabatoge the finalists. Matt had to have been an act. NOBODY is that douchey. Are they?

Overall I was happy with Christina. She's young, but has a good base of talent and may develop into a fine chef. Petrozza was a bit to pigish for the job, IMHO.

12. Yes!!
Always! It's a child-like look of complete and total lack of understanding coupled with whining, disappointment, frustration and anger.

God, I hate him!
