Worst Reality Series?
Edited on Wed Jul-09-08 08:11 AM by terrya
For me, it was "Growing Up Gotti". Watching it, I couldn't believe why viewers would be drawn to watching those repugnant people.

2. Toss up between "Race for the Green" and "My Big, Fat Obnoxious Fiance."
Not sure if "Race for the Green (Card)" even made it to air because of its highly offensive and exploitive nature, but I did see the pilot for "My Big, Fat Obnoxious Fiance," which was insultingly bad. Baaaaad.

4. "My Super Sweet 16"
Between the rampant hyper-materialism, and the appalling attitudes some of these kids display towards their parents, that show leaves me wanting to throw a shoe through the TV.

20. Agree. It's the worst. And it puts completely unrealistic
ideas into the heads of impressionable teens. My 15-year-old asked me to find out how much it would cost to hire her favorite band to play at her 16th birthday party after seeing something similar on the show. I told her I could afford to buy their latest CD and all her friends could gather round an iPod to give it a listen at her (small) gathering.

That show is absolutely appalling.

5. Any show that involves finding a mate for a celebrity
such as "Rock of Love" or "Flavor of Love." I just don't care.

7. Yeah, I stopped watching "Gotti" after the first episode.
Would the new "Mole" count?

I think it falls under the genre, "game show / reality show fusion".

If so, :boring:

9. I'm all ears.
Up until the last installment, it was my guy's summer guilty pleasure.

He's already started gearing up for this weekend's premiere.

I, again, hope he is completely disappointed.

18. How can one fight the awesome power that is Julie Chen?

My wife wathes this show-the ones without Julie are like a heartbreaking opportunity lost :loveya:

Seriously, she is so disasterously inept at anything beside reading cue cards that her marital position is the only thing that could reasonably explain her not only being on the air but being on TWO shows.

:eyes:

My wife says that the show completely misses most of the actual drama (from the live feeds)

For the spawn they have released and sent forth, to spread their douchebaggery beyond the confines of their isolated and spoiled Long Island youth:

15. Upcoming one wins hands (or heads) down!
I so wish I was kidding about this. I saw an advertisement for an upcoming reality series last night. Here's the concept (can you imagine pitching this?)

1)Contestants have challenges where they must stuff themselves with a large amount of disgusting food.
2)Contestants then have physical challenges designed to make them :puke:
3)Last person to :puke: wins!

:wow: If this is what people consider entertainment, we are so screwn!

31. And you can tell they're fake and scripted
Especially in the scenes where he and another person are having a conversation with the camera behind each person's back. Gene says something looking at Shannon, no camera behind her back, then Shannon says something to Gene in what's supposed to be a continuous conversation but WTF? The camera that was behind Gene looking at Shannon has rapidly jumped behind her back looking at him with no cameraman standing behind him. Do they think everyone is too stupid to notice that or is that one really fast cameraman?

19. Um the Tila Tequila one is easily in the top 5 worst TV shows of all time
my buddies and I stumbled onto it during a brief break back at the hotel room when we were in Vegas.

We all agreed that it was the most horrific TV we had seen in years (yes worse than Rikki Rackman on Headbangers Ball).

I had to google her when I got home and when I saw that she was a "myspace personality" well that vaulted her up to #1. Ever.

Really really bad on every level.

It's okay when they're not actually on the game show but once they go into that studio, the annoyance factor skyrockets.

Wipeout is really bad too but it still makes me laugh.

26. That's hilarious...
The main thing I don't like about Wipeout is that my 5-year-old is hooked and now every night before he goes to sleep, he says, "Good night...and big balls."

We've expressed to him that is NOT something to be said outside the hosue but I'm just waiting for his Pre-K teacher to send him a note telling me that he said it at nap time.
