BREAKING: Country music leads to S-E-X
GRAND JUNCTION — Whether it's something in the water or the grooving sounds of country music, the aftermath of what one health officials calls Grand Junction's "Woodstock" drives up pregnancies in this city each year.

Nurse-Family Partnership supervisor Wanda Scott said referrals to her agency from the Mesa County Health Department quadruple every year after the music festival Country Jam.

Scott said on average the health clinic sees between 25 to 30 pregnancies a month. She says five weeks after the festival that number jumps to almost 80 a month.

The festival ran from June 26-29. Performers included Tim McGraw, Clay Walker and Sugarland.

Scott's program helps first-time mothers with low incomes. The average age of clients is 19.

10. Any town with the name "Junction" in it
is a country music town. That's just my hunch.

Grand Junction, Junction City, Petticoat Junction, Conjunction Junction...

16. Well, you got me there!!
I'm also reminded of a time when my wife turned on an E-d-i-t-h P-i-a-f record during a special moment.

That didn't lead to S-E-X either.

I'm sure similar trends are seen here in KS, following Country Stampede and the State Fair.

24. Really? Tim McGraw makes me lose my libido.
Sugarland, on the other hand, is awesome. And their lead singer is really hot.

26. That's strange. The perfect country song goes on about...
... mamas, prison, trains, trucks, getting drunk, and IMO something about a divorce or a relationship ending. Or death. That's a good one too.

Nothing about sex in there at all.

Mark.
