And now...for the poem that was inspired by my new shirt:
I truly hope you will enjoy my little work...

The Fabric

The fabric

Rests in my hands

I will make my life

From it

I will spread the flimsy paper

Over the cloth

And see just where my life will go

And what will become of me

I will take the cloth

To cut and sew

To make three dimensions

Out of two...

I can get lost

In the folds and edges

But I will emerge

With something

I can use

Something I will live in

It’s up to me

To shape it

And be sure

To keep it safe

In good repair

So that it will cover me

For all my days

I take up the fabric

My life is waiting

1. Very nice, Peggy!
I love how you're able to take everyday things and turn it into poetry.

It forces people to look at things in a different way.

2. My dear huskerlaw!
Ah, my faithful friend...

Yeah, it isn't all erotica!

I hadn't even considered the angle of forcing people to look at things in a different way...

Thank you, sweetie!

5. The flimsy paper......
This brought back memories of being 6 or 7 and my mom teaching me to sew. I loved the feel of the pattern paper.

The poem is beautiful. Who would have thought a new shirt would inspire such a jewel?

6. My dear sazemisery...
Wow, thank you!

I've had some difficulty lately getting the words out...

It seems almost as though I can be artistic at one thing at a time...

But the construction of the shirt definitely triggered me!

So glad you enjoyed this, and that it brought back good memories for you...

I like the deep, abstract perspective from which you look at things and offer your insights.

8. My dear ih8thegop!
Hmmm...deep abstract perspective?

Not sure I'm getting this, to be honest...

My poem doesn't feel abstract to me, but very concrete...

But I know you're enjoying my work, and that matters a lot to silly Peg...

Thank you, sweetie...

9. I'm having a hard time coming up with another word
Perhaps what I'm trying to say is, few people would think about things from the angle you do.

:-)
